Thonburi Klongs Eco Uncovered

EXO Thailand showcases a more local, authentic side of Bangkok on this new excursion

EXO’s new Thonburi Klongs Eco Uncovered pulls back the curtain on one of Bangkok’s lesser known districts. Travelling by solar-powered boat, guests will discover a rich kaleidoscope of history, culture and culinary traditions.

‘We have always wanted to develop more of this area due to its rich past and eclectic mix of sights’,  EXO Product Manager Rupert Sladden says.

‘I love history, so the mix of heritage sites, temples and beautiful spots visited on this experience really caters to that passion!’

The tour starts with a walk through the city’s Portuguese quarter, where the architecture and cuisine are a nod to the former residents.

Then guests will board a solar-powered, longtail boat, cruising through the back klongs lined with wooden shophouses and temples.

Every stop along the way has a story, from tales of Portuguese merchants, temples with unique tiling, historic family gardens and more!

‘The last stop is really special. We have lunch at a 100-year old garden run by a local family,’ explains Rupert.

‘I love it because it gives guests the chance to sit down and reflect over what they have seen whilst supporting a local business and giving back to the community they just explored.’

For second time visitors to Bangkok looking to discover a new part of the city or for guests with a keen love of history and local life, EXO’s Thonburi Klongs Eco Uncovered is a brilliant addition to a Thailand holiday.

WHY EXO LOVES IT?

‘I love history, so the mix of heritage sites, temples and beautiful spots visited on this experience really caters to that passion’.

– Rupert Sladden, EXO Thailand Product Manager
